Who we are
A language training center
The Maison des Langues JAKINOLA is a language training center created and managed by teaching professionals. We offer paid courses and free activities with the aim of promoting learning and cultural exchanges, to preserve and revitalize linguistic diversity. By promoting linguistic richness, we contribute to individual and social well-being and facilitate access to employment for those concerned.
An association
Paid language training (Spanish, English, Basque, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, German, etc.) is the economic engine of the structure. But JAKINOLA is also an association that offers free entertainment - theme evenings, tandems, multilingual aperitifs - to its members to circulate and hear all languages, those from here and elsewhere.
A resource center
The Maison des langues also provides its members with a Resource Center, where everyone can continue their learning at their own pace, alone or in company. There are books, dictionaries, methods, board games, computers, wifi connection, tea and coffee.
Digital trends
Our rooms are suitable for teaching in small groups. They are equipped with digital screens to be able to use authentic audiovisual documents. We also work with a digital platform that ensures the continuity of courses outside the walls.
Our specificity
This hybrid approach - formal and informal, face-to-face and remote - constitutes our specificity. Our teaching is developing today and now, in an interactive and connected world, and we favor learning based both on human relationships and on technological and pedagogical innovations. The Maison des Langues' project is based on the quality of teachers and teaching as well as the accessibility of the place, geographically and financially. It seemed very important to us that this “Maison” be located in a popular district (Saint-Esprit in Bayonne), easily accessible by public transport (train, bus).
Our public
Our audience is made up of adults - active and retired - and also children, middle school and high school students. Among the adults are foreign learners who take FLE (French as a Foreign Language) courses on our premises. Our activity is also oriented towards the professional public, notably via the CPF (Personal Training Account). We also recently validated the Qualiopi certification.
Our team
The staff of the Maison des Langues is made up of three employees, and has increased its workforce with a work-study student and a Service Civique. We are proud of our teaching staff, made up of around fifteen qualified and dynamic professionals. We are constantly diversifying our language offering, offering as many local languages as exotic ones.
